The Rocks & Shoal Bay

Today we went for a coffee at Nicki's in the morning. Lau headed off to work after her marathon training while Mark, Hannah and myself caught the train to Milsons Point. From here we walked across the harbour bridge. It's very disceptive - it's huge! Over 1km!

We walked down to The Rocks, which has a street market on the weekends. We browsed in the many stalls, from jewellery, vintage clothes, paintings, sweet stalls...

We stopped in a few art galleries and admirred their artwork!
We grabbed a late lunch from the street market stalls. There was a barbie stall, I had Kangaroo with red onion, Moroccan Lamb, and Prawn skewers with rice and salad. I've been determined to try Kangaroo since I got here and I was not disappointed - it was really nice! :)

We walked down to the quay to have our lunch.

We walked back to Wynyard station and caught the train to Lindfield. We were completely shattered today, some how this week and today had taken its toll on us! We watched the beginning of the rugby and then went to the local pub where all our age group hang out.

The rugby was on here too, so we ordered food and watched the second half. The Waratahs, (the NSW team) won too! The atmosphere in the bar was amazing, almost better than a stadium!
For dinner I had a Quoina rice salad with smoke chicken, spinach, butternut squash, feta and toasted grains & seeds. It was lovely!

On the way home we quickly stopped at Nicky's gelato parlour for some ice cream. He had made fresh mint choc chip this morning, so I had to try some! :)

When we got back home we watched Harry Potter on TV and then went to bed.

The next morning we grabbed a latte down the road before leaving at 10:30 for Shoal Bay. It was around 3 hours away from Lindfield as it is on the North Coast.  This beach was completely different to the others I had visited as the the sea was so calm and flat. It was so tranquil just sitting there!

We grabbed a takeaway lunch in a restaurant called Sandy Foot. I choose the summer salad which was griddled asparagus, smokey bacon, avocado, red onion, feta cheese, boiled egg and cos lettuce. It was so nice!!
We ate our food on the beach, it was so relaxing!

We left around 4:30 to start the travel back home but stopped for an ice cream on the way in Baskin Robbins.

We all had sundaes. I choose mint choc chip and Hokey Pokey with caramel fudge sauce and a cherry on top! It was lush! :)

Hokey Pokey is a well known Aussie flavour of ice cream - white chocolate ice cream with crunchy honeycomb candy pieces and ribbons of caramel.

We drove back to Lindfield and arrived at around 7:30 and then Lau & Mark went on there 18k run for there marathon run on the Pacific Highway.
When they arrived back we had a chicken, bacon, avocado, spinach, greens, pea shoots, radish and red onion salad in a French dressing.
