Dinning at Valans Restaurant

This evening I dinned at Valans Restaurant, where I am a waitress. 
We dinned out with our friends who are photographers from Cardiff, Gary & Sue.

It was a lovely evening with lovely company! 


The food was amazing! 
Everything made at Valans is homemade, from the bread, coleslaw, chips, cheesecake, etc... 
Valans is a small restaurant based in Llandybie, with only 10 tables - it makes you feel very special dinning there!
The taste of homemade food undoubtedly shines through when you taste a mouthful of their tasty food. 

We choose to dine from the specials menu. 
I had the homemade fishcakes, which are made with welsh potatoes, spring onions, cod and trout. Served with steamed vegetables and their homemade tomato and chilli chutney. It was scrumcious! 


My favourite by far, is their giant onion rings, which are amazing - they taste like actual onions, which is a rare thing, haha!

To go with our meal, we choose a lovely red Australian Shiraz from New South Wales, called the whisking duck. It was lovely, full bodied, sweet on the palette - almost like a fruity jam with lots of plum flavours. 


For dessert, I couldn't resist one of my favourites - lemon cheesecake. It was A-mazing! One of the best cheesecakes I've tasted. It was bot too rich but it still had that creamness without being too heavy and dense. 


Gary picked the toffee crempog - which is valans fresh made pancakes, served with a toffee sauce and valans vanilla ice cream - all homemade of course! 
I think he loved his dessert, haha...
