What a coincidence it was to have booked accommodation that was a champagne producer on the day of my AS level results!
We spent the last night of our trip in a small B&B that specialises in producing champagne, located just outside Reims in a little village called St Thierry (famous for its champagne production).
The B&B was situated within their champagne producing complex. It was very modern and structurally designed superbly!
It had gorgeous views over looking their champagne vineyards.
They had a lovely outdoor terrace to over look their vineyards!
I was over the moon with my results of 4 A's in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Economics.
For dinner we drove in to the centre of Reims and dinned at Brasserie FLO to celebrate my success!
For starters we had Prawns marinated in Espelette peppers served with grilled Provençal vegetables and arugula salad in balsamic vinegar.
Parmesan tart with stewed cherry tomatoes, fresh goats cheese in olive oil.
For mains we had Medallions of lamb roasted in thyme and pink garlic with a green vegetable barigoile.
Grilled whole sea bass in French sea salt, old fashioned tomatoes and Taggiasche olives.
Which I completely demolished...
For dessert we had vanilla shortbread tart with lemon cream and raspberries.
Coffee ice cream served with a roasted hazelnut wafer.
What an amazing way to end our trip!!
The next morning we watched the sun rise over their vineyards from our room window, which was absolutely breath taking!
