Exploring Montepulciano

Today we visited the small town of Montepulciano, which is in the Siena region. It is probably the second most famous wine area to be found in Italy, with the first being of course Chanti.

The town it self was situated on a hill and had breath taking panoramic views.

The town reminded me a lot of a mini Siena with its gorgeous cobbled streets and cute small lanes.

Literally every corner you turned there was something pretty to take a photograph of.

There where many cute little shops mostly selling dried pastas, herbs and  typical tuscan food like pastries and cakes.

As Montepulciano is known very well for its wine there were many wine tasting shops. We went in too nearly every one, it was almost like a bar crawl :)

On the way back to the country house we stopped in a few places, as they were too picturesque to just pass.
