Sightseeing in Siena

Today we visited Siena (on their market day) so it was extremely busy! Literally everyone and their dog was out buying the fresh local produce! But who could blame them!

There were also many cool street food stalls

It was a nice experience to walk round and explore a true Italian market.

We then strolled through Siena in the 42 degree heat, which wasn't easy as there are many hills! But it was in no doubt worth it :)

We stopped in the main square where they have the famous horse racing once a year.

I managed to get a cracking panoramic shot :) I'm quite pleased of that one!

My goodies from Siena; I bought the famous Pici pasta which can only be found in Tuscany, which is like very thick spaghetti and is traditionally served with a cream of pericono cheese and freshly cracked black pepper. Yum yum! I also bought a dried chilli mix, so I can make very hot spicy 'angry' pasta, like the one which had in the small restaurant in Modena on our last night there.

In the car, on the way home to the farm house from Siena, I managed to get a shot of my favourite tuscan trees (whilst dad was doing 90 mph) so god help the quality! But it's the memories that count :)
